International RETTmobil 2012 with a Record Number of Exhibitors

Due to its quality and diversity RETTmobil 2012, the “European leading exhibition for rescue and mobility”, is an international forum and therefore a must for anyone dealing with this issue. From Wednesday, May 9th until Friday, May 11th more than 420 companies and organisations from almost 20 countries set a new exhibitor record at Messe Galerie.

Messe Galerie Fulda, an attractive location in the center of the Federal Republic of Germany is, again for three days, the platform for all full-time and volunteer helpers and rescuers from rescue organizations and fire departments, for their technical and managerial staff, users and decision makers from government ministries, local authorities and associations. On a total area of ​​over 70,000 square meters are available: 17 exhibition halls - also a record - a large open outside area and a perfected offroad terrain. Here are present the producers of ambulances and emergency vehicles, manufacturers of vehicle conversions and equipment, emergency medicine, protective apparel, wireless technology, publishers, trade associations, aid organisations and many other exhibitors concerned with the overall theme of the industry.

In the outside exhibition area, well known aid and rescue organisations, such as the German Fire Services Association and the Federal Armed Forces, demonstrate their capabilities in practical activities and demonstrations. The Fulda Fire Department offers a special attraction: a daily real crash demonstration with a professional stunt team and a subsequent exercise on "patient-friendly recovery of casualties by fire and rescue services".  In addition, the qualification on the use of fire extinguishers can be acquired. Mobility can be experienced first-hand in driving safety exercises and terrain trainings with 12 specialty rescue vehicles from 4 European manufacturers.

For the first time, the Working Group of Firefighters in Rescue (AG FREDI) presents itself in the exhibition forum in hall 7 and organises lectures. A public panel discussion is held at the opening of RETTmobil on Wednesday, May 9th, at 11am in hall 7. The important and controversial topic is: "Provision of Rescue Services – Outsourcing or Re-Municipalisation?"

The excellent education program in three locations includes medical and rescue service training courses, seminars and workshops. Professor Dr. Peter Sefrin, the scientific director of the education program at RETTmobil, gathered renouned speakers who inform "from practice - for practice".

The 12th RETTmobil is open on three days from 9am – 5pm. Nearly 3,000 free parking spaces for visitors are available. For years, the modest admission price of 10 Euros remains unchanged. The exhibition catalog is free. To all who come to Fulda by train a free hourly shuttle bus transfer from Fulda central station to Messe Galerie and back is provided.

The President of the German Fire Services Association, Hans-Peter Kroger, assumes this year’s RETTmobil patronage. The exhibition is officially opened on May 9th at 10am by Petra Müller-Klepper, State Secretary of the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs.

Messe Fulda GmbH as organiser of RETTmobil 2012 expects the number of visitors to increase further after last year’s record number of over 20,000 visitors. Twelve years of  RETTmobil is also an outstanding event for the notional sponsor - the Community of Interests of the Manufacturers of Ambulances and Emergency Vehicles (IKR e.V.).
