Welcome Statement: Organisation

Directors of Messe Fulda GmbH
Organisation of RETTmobil

RETTmobil – often referred to as the fair for lifesavers – will continue its success story in 2019. Since the inception in 2001, it has developed into the largest and most important trade show of its kind in Europe.

Right from the start, the RETTmobil project was on its way to becoming an international event. In 2018 more than 500 exhibitors and 29,618 trade visitors were counted.

For three days once again, Messe Galerie Fulda will be a platform for all full-time and voluntary helpers and rescuers from rescue organisations and fire brigades, for their specialists and managers, for users and decision-makers from ministries, municipalities and associations. 20 exhibition halls and a large outdoor area are located at the exhibition site. Manufacturers of ambulances and rescue vehicles, exhibitors from the fields of vehicle equipment, emergency medicine, clothing and radio technology, publishers, trade associations, aid organisations and many other sectors will be represented here.

Visitors will experience mobility in the off-road area with training and driving safety exercises. Here, current vehicle and rescue technology can be experienced up close. The mobility area will also be intensified and expanded this year.

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Feuerwehren im Rettungsdienst (AG FReDi – Working Group of Fire Brigades in Rescue Service) has traditionally taken over the trade fair forum and training events. Once again, many important aid organisations are involved. The German Fire Services Association provides information on the “Help for Helpers” foundation, which deals with psychosocial emergency care. The Fulda Fire Department, together with friendly organisations, offers an exciting programme with numerous demonstrations of medical-technical rescue, high-altitude rescue and modern rescue equipment.

The specialist programme at two locations includes medical rescue service trainings, seminars and workshops. Science director Professor Dr. Peter Sefrin has once again gathered renowned speakers.

Georg Khevenhüller, the new President of the Malteser Hilfsdienst, has taken over the patronage of the 19th RETTmobil.

In cooperation with the city of Fulda, additional parking will be offered, so that a total of 3,000 parking spaces will be available. All arrivals will be offered a half-hourly free bus transfer from the train station to the venue of Fulda Galerie and back.

19 years of RETTmobil is a significant event for the conceptual sponsor – the Community of Interests of the Manufacturers of Ambulance and Rescue Vehicles (IKR e.V.). Important members are renowned vehicle conversion manufacturers from Europe, German automobile manufacturers such as Daimler and VW, suppliers to the industries and sponsors.
